The 18-year old Sprong recorded 88 points (39g, 49a) in 68 games-played last season with the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL. The contract will officially kick in when Sprong turns pro, as he’s expected to return to juniors for at least one more season before finding a role with the Pittsburgh Penguins or Wilkes-Barre.
