The Pittsburgh Penguins kept a lot of warm bodies around for a lengthy period this preseason due to their three games in three nights stretch that ends tonight against the Detroit Red Wings in Pittsburgh. Many expected to see cuts begin over the next 24 hours but the Pens have already announced a few players placed on waivers.
The players that were released to waivers can be claimed by another NHL team or returned to Wilkes-Barre Scranton if they clear. I’m not sure that there are any surprises here but the list of today’s cuts are below.
