Pirates add three new members to coaching, development staff

The Major League Baseball lockout may still be going on, but the Pirates can still make some additions to their front office.

Per a source, the club has hired Dewey Robinson, who had been the director of pitching development/coordinator over the last 12 years for the Rays, as a special advisor of pitching development. Chris Truby has been brought on as the new minor-league infield coordinator, and Dan Meyer is the new Class AAA pitching coach.

There will be more front office hirings and role shifting to come.

While many of the Pirates’ front office and coaching hires have been younger, Robinson brings 41 year of pro ball experience to the front office.
