Phil Kessel left the Penguins’ 5-2 win Saturday night against Montreal early in the third period due to an injury and did not return.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan confirmed after the game that Kessel had been injured, but he did not provide any update on the winger’s status. Sullivan said he expected to know more in the morning.
Kessel appeared to get hurt shortly after he scored the Penguins’ fourth goal of the game, after which he went to the locker room.
Phil Kessel does not appear to be on the #Pens’ bench at the moment.
