Phil Kessel will more than likely score 30 or more goals for the first time since a career-high-tying 37 in 2013-14.
On pace for 91, he’s a similarly solid bet to produce the most points in a single season of his career.
One thing Kessel won’t do, however, is fret over those numbers or the Art Ross Trophy they could theoretically net him.
“I got two Cups,” Kessel said after Friday’s practice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. “Doesn’t really matter.”
Mirroring his 2017-18 season, Kessel was in peak form while meeting with reporters after practice, snapping off one-liners in his own unique way.
