Phil Bourque was pretty fond of the Jofa helmet he wore during his days in pro hockey.
It wasn’t heavy.
It fit comfortably.
And then there was what might have been the most important factor.
“To be quite frank,” Bourque said, “I thought it looked good.”
One thing that headgear didn’t do, he would conclude later, was safeguard his head very well.
