The Penguins got a pair of breakaway goals by Sidney Crosby, and another hot start on Monday to run down the Anaheim Ducks, 6-2.
The club got first period goals by Chris Kunitz, Conor Sheary and Carl Hagelin, and breakaway goals by Crosby in both the second and third periods to take a commanding lead.
Olli Maatta finished the scoring at 6:47 of the third, lining a feed from Crosby past Whitehall native John Gibson to prompt a goaltending change.
The win runs the Penguins (27-18-7) season-long home winning streak to six games, and brings Crosby’s scoring streak to a career-high seven games.
