Phil Kessel, the Penguins’ biggest acquisition during a busy off-season, will make his debut Tuesday during a preseason game against Carolina at Consol Energy Center, coach Mike Johnston said today.
“He’s going to add a lot to our attack,” Johnston said of the right-winger acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Johnston and Jim Rutherfordand, the team’s general manager, met with reporters today at the team’s new practice facility in Cranberry and discussed several topics in addition to Kessel.
Although today marked the official opening of camp, on-ice drills won’t begin until Friday.
