Five penguins used what handlers call “their well-aimed waddle technique” to launch an attack on the Ottawa Senators Monday afternoon. They used their feet to wipe out an image of a red and gold Roman general’s helmet that is similar to the headgear portrayed in the logo of the Canadian hockey team.
These were 18-inch tall African penguins at the National Aviary “setting the stage for a Pittsburgh Penguins victory” in the third round of the Stanley Cup hockey playoffs, said officials at the Northside bird zoo.
The plan called for penguins named Goldie, Happy, Tribby, Mary Beth and Kaden to dip their feet in black and gold paint and then waddle all over a large red, black and white poster.
