Penguins winger Dupuis taken to hospital as health precaution

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Penguins winger Pascal Dupuis has been taken to a hospital as a precaution after experiencing symptoms the team says "may or may not" be related to blood-clot issues that forced him to sit out most of last season.

“We’ve said all along that Pascal’s health is the highest priority,” general manager Jim Rutherford said. “We will take every precaution necessary to ensure he is in good health.”

Details of the symptoms he experienced were not made public.

Dupuis, obviously, will not play when the Penguins face Edmonton tonight at Rexall Place.
