During the Penguins’ morning skate Saturday, Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle slipped into the stands. Not to do some advance scouting, but to catch up with old pals.
Pitt welcomed 27 alumni from the first decade of the franchise to tonight’s game against the Ducks as part of the team’s celebration of its 50th season.
Carlyle played for the Penguins from 1978-84, and said he probably knew at least 20 of the Penguins alumni in the building today.
“It does bring you back,” Carlyle said. “We had a few laughs in the stands and it brings back some old times of our time here in Pittsburgh.
