It’s February, and that means the Penguins are fulfilling their perennial tradition of dealing with the dreaded and untimely injury bug.
In the first period against the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday evening, forwards Tom Kuhnhackl and Carter Rowney went down with undisclosed injuries. Kuhnhackl remains a mystery to me, but Rowney, who literally just made his return against the Capitals last week, got nailed in the leg with a screaming slap shot, dropped to the ice, and immediately headed for the bench after he slowly got back up.
