The defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins will play at Consol Energy Center for three straight games to open the 2016-17 season.
The home opener — Oct. 13 against the Washington Capitals — will be followed with games against the Anaheim Ducks (Oct. 15) and Colorado Avalanche (Oct. 17) before the team hits the road to play the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 18.
The entire NHL schedule was released this afternoon.
Highlights include a Stanley Cup rematch with the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 20 at Consol Energy Center. The Penguins return to the SAP Center to face San Jose again on Nov.
