Penguins take lead on Senators in Game 4

The Penguins are facing the Ottawa Senators in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final Friday at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Here are some thoughts from the game as it unfolds.

First period: Better first period for the Penguins tonight than in Game 3 (though, to be fair, it’d be hard for it to be worse).

They lead, 1-0, on Olli Maatt’s first career playoff goal at 19:14 of the period. It wasn’t a great chance, to be honest, and one of the rare mistakes Craig Anderson has made this series (and all playoffs, really).
