Despite not playing after the second intermission in Game 2 Monday night of the Eastern Conference final against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Conor Sheary remains an integral part of the Penguins’ plans, coach Mike Sullivan said Tuesday after practice.
“I thought it was a bit of a struggle for Conor last game, for whatever reason,” Sullivan said. “Players go through that at times.
“We don’t think less of Conor because of that. He’s a big part of this team, we know it. He knows that we believe in him.”
Sheary has averaged 21 shifts per game in these playoffs, but he had just 15 in Game 2.
