The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed goaltender Sean Maguire to a two-year, entry-level contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
The two-way contract will begin with the 2016-17 season and runs through the 2017-18 campaign.
Maguire will join Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on an amateur tryout contract.
A lefthanded-catching goaltender, Maguire was drafted by the Penguins in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. He becomes the seventh member of that draft class currently signed to NHL contracts with Pittsburgh, joining Derrick Pouliot, Olli Maatta, Oskar Sundqvist, Matt Murray, Teddy Blueger and Anton Zlobin.
