The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman David Warsofsky to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
The deal is a two-way contract that has an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.
Warsofsky, 26, returns to the Penguins organization for a second stint after playing the majority of last season with Pittsburgh, before being claimed on waivers by New Jersey on February 29.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound defender appeared in 12 games for Pittsburgh, scoring once. He had one assist in 10 games with New Jersey.
