BOSTON – This is about the time John Wayne is supposed to come riding across the top of the ridge, swooping in with a cavalry troop to save a desperate situation.
Or at least swooping in with a goal-scoring forward or two.
There’s not much to suggest the Penguins are in line for such a happy ending anytime soon, however.
Their 3-0 loss to Boston tonight at TD Garden ran their winless streak to 0-2-1 and dropped their record to 15-12-3. They have scored a total of three goals since their 4-2 victory at Colorado last Wednesday.
