SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Penguins cool and collected rookie goalie stood like he has after every game this postseason — win or lose — and calmly dissected his night.
Matt Murray didn’t sound like he’d be losing any sleep Saturday night.
Sharks winger Joel Ward rifled a slap shot from the high slot in the third period in the final second of a four-minute Sharks power play that Murray saw the whole way.
It glanced off his glove and into the net.
That’s when Game 3 got away from the Penguins.
Up 2-1, the club was a second away from killing the penalty and grabbing the momentum — maybe the game — but instead found itself in a tie game, 2-2, with 11:12 left in regulation.
