The Penguins recalled David Warsofsky this afternoon and placed fellow defenseman Derrick Pouliot on injured reserve.
Pouliot, in his first game of the 2016-17 season, played 12 minutes, 29 seconds Thursday in the Penguins’ 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks at PPG Paints Arena.
He registered one shot on goal, one hit and a blocked shot, but his final shift ended at 15:59 of the second period because of an undisclosed injury.
Coach Mike Sullivan said after the game that he didn’t have an update on Pouliot or Olli Maatta, whose last shift ended at 12:48 of the second period.
