The Penguins made a couple of roster moves regarding their defensive depth ahead of tonight’s game agains the Edmonton Oilers at PPG Paints Arena.
A day after sending David Warsofsky to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Penguins recalled fellow defensemen Steve Oleksy and Chad Ruhwedel. They also sent forward Tom Sestito down.
Oleksy and Ruhwedel both have NHL experience and have been off to hot starts in the American Hockey League.
Oleksy’s more of a stay-at-home type and offer some physicality with Sestito’s departure. He’s played 62 career NHL games, all with the Washington Capitals, and had a goal, four points and 12 penalty minutes in 10 games at the AHL level this season.
