Penguins recall Archibald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Penguins have recalled forward Josh Archibald from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

He will fill the roster spot opened when Kevin Porter suffered an ankle injury that had to be surgically repaired today. His recovery is expected to take 12 weeks.

Archibald, 23, has eight goals and six assists in 51 games with the Baby Penguins.

He is expected to make his NHL debut when the Penguins face Calgary Saturday at 3:08 p.m. at Consol Energy Center.

Archibald was the Penguins' sixth-round choice in the 2011 draft, and will be the last member of his class to play in the NHL.
