The Penguins have recalled 11 players as Black Aces during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
They include goaltender Sean Maguire; defensemen David Warsofsky, Derrick Poulio, Cameron Gaunce and Frank Corrado; and forwards Tom Sestito, Dominik Simon, Jean-Sebastien Dea, Garrett Wilson, Kevin Porter and Daniel Sprong.
All 11 are eligible to play with the Penguins in the playoffs, although that's unlikely.
Black Aces refers to minor league or junior players who join the big club for a playoff run.
The one with the most intrigue surrounding him is likely Sprong, the organization's top offensive prospect.
While Sprong scored 32 goals in 31 regular-season games with Charlottetown of the QMJHL, and nine more in 12 playoff contests, general manager Jim Rutherford said dropping Sprong into the lineup would be unlikely.
