The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defenseman Tim Erixon to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
The deal is a two-way contract that has an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.
Erixon, 25, just completed his first season in the Pittsburgh organization after coming to the Penguins alongside Phil Kessel in a deal from Toronto last July 1.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound blueliner played most of the year with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, contributing 20 points (3G-17A) and a plus-14 in 65 regular-season games.
