The Penguins have signed defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to a 1-year contract extension.
The contract will kick in when the 2020-21 season ends and will be for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The 1-year contract will carry a $750,000 AAV under the salary cap.
“Chad is a reliable, depth defenseman who is a great teammate,” Rutherford said in a press release. “He keeps himself in great shape and is always game-ready, which is important for a player in his role and the success of our team.”
Ruhwedel, now 30-years old played in 41 games for the Penguins.
