LONDON, Ontario — Two years ago, Jean-Sebastien Dea was one of those poor souls who report to the prospects tournament here with little more than a dream and a tryout agreement.
And no guarantee that either would last for long.
“I was really nervous about that,” Dea said.
That might be, but it didn’t show. He played well enough to earn an invitation to the Penguins training camp, and ultimately parlayed that opportunity into a contract.
“He tried to be noticed right off the bat, and he certainly did that in this tournament,” associate general manager Jason Botterill said.
