Penguins Players Visit Avalon Elementary To Support “Future Goals” Educational Program

Pittsburgh Penguins players Eric Fehr, Nick Bonino and Beau Bennett visited Avalon Elementary School in the Northgate School District today to interact with students and support the “Future Goals” educational program.

“Future Goals” is a joint effort of the National Hockey League and the NHL Players Association, established in 2014. The program’s “Hockey Scholar” course uses hockey-related themes to help students learn about science, technology, engineering and math.

“We are proud of the impact that the Future Goals program has had in its first year,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “Together with our clubs and our players, we’ve reached students across North America, helped them build important technical skills and better prepared them for exciting future career opportunities.
