CHICAGO — Penguins center Evgeni Malkin and defenseman Kris Letang have been chosen to participate in the NHL All-Star Game Jan. 31 in Nashville.
They will be part of the 11-man Metropolitan Division squad that will take part in the event's new 3-on-3 tournament format.
Malkin is the Penguins' leading scorer, with 18 goals and 19 assists in 39 games.
He also was chosen to play in the 2008, 2009 and 2012 all-star games.
Letang is the Penguins' No. 3 scorer, with four goals and 20 assists in 30 games. He also has one of the team's worst plus-minus ratings, minus-11.
