The Penguins announced yesterday that they’ve placed Teddy Blueger on long term injured reserve (LTIR) retroactive to October 11. The 28-year-old center has been nursing an undisclosed injury since September 28.
With the move, the Pens gained enough cap space to recall forwards Drake Caggiula and Sam Poulin from their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton farm club. Caggiula, a 28-year-old left wing, has one assist in four games with the Baby Pens. Our first-round pick in 2019, the 21-year-old Poulin has a goal in four games.
Both players enjoyed strong training camps and preseasons.
Under the conditions for LTIR, Blueger must be out for at least 10 games and 24 days.
