The Penguins traded defenseman Rob Scuderi to the Chicago Blackhawks Monday night for defenseman Trevor Daley. The Penguins made the announcement halfway through the third period Monday night in a game against the Washington Capitals.
Scuderi, who was originally scheduled to be in the lineup, was a last-minute scratch. He was replaced by Adam Clendening.
Daley, 32, is signed through 2016-17, and carries a $3.3 million cap hit annually. He was in his first season with the Blackhawks after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Dallas Stars.
Scuderi also had one year remaining on his contract, with a cap hit of $3.
