Penguins defensive prospect Derrick Pouliot’s long-awaited season debut could finally happen.
With defensemen Kris Letang and David Warsofsky dealing with undisclosed injuries, Pouliot is a candidate to be recalled for tonight’s road game against St. Louis.
Letang missed Sunday’s 5-0 home win against Carolina with an undisclosed injury. Coach Mike Sullivan described him as a “game-time decision” for tonight. Letang was injured in Friday’s 5-4 overtime road loss to Tampa Bay. He appeared to jam his right arm or hand into the end glass of the Penguins’ end boards late in the second period after being hit by Lightning right winger Ryan Callahan.
