Penguins right winger Bryan Rust returned to the lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final Wednesday after leaving Game 1 Monday with an undisclosed injury.
Rust was injured when he was struck in the head by Sharks left winger Patrick Marleau.
“Everything I’ve done the last couple of days is to make sure I feel good moving forward,” Rust said after the Wednesday morning skate. ”Each day is getting a little bit better. And that’s all I can hope for.”
Marleau was given a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head, but the NHL’s Department of Player Safety did not deem the hit worthy of supplemental discipline.
