Thursday night was supposed to be a special night for Beau Bennett: his 100th NHL game.
Instead, the third-line Penguins winger was missing from the lineup against the Ottawa Senators because of an undisclosed injury. Coach Mike Johnston indicated it’s still very unclear how long the injury will set Bennett back.
“Beau’s injured. … He’s going to be further evaluated,” Johnston said after the morning skate. “Like any other injury after a game, he was evaluated. … We will start to get some news on how long that injury will be.”
Bennett, who has now missed 90 games with various injuries and ailments since beginning his Penguins career, was off to a very strong start.
