Pascal Dupuis flashed a knowing smile from his locker-room stall Thursday morning. Later, he finally would start his season seven games into the Penguins’ new year and some 11 months after his previous NHL game.
Dupuis was cleared to rejoin the lineup against Dallas after an undisclosed injury in the days leading up to opening night.
The setback was a shot of tough luck for this veteran winger who was in the midst of an emotional comeback. Dupuis spent the majority of the 2014-15 season recovering from a blood clot in his lung that could have ended his career.
