The Penguins have named Madison Nikkel the team's assistant video coach, Jim Rutherford announced on Thursday.
Nikkel, 25, has spent the past three seasons as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's video coach. Prior to joining Wilkes-Barre, he spent four years at Boston College where he did pre-scout and in-game video analysis for the men's team.
In Pittsburgh, Nikkel will work under head video coach Andy Saucier in video breakdowns and analysis and compiling video for scouts.
“With technology constantly evolving and changing the way we prepare for and analyze games, we want to remain cutting-edge and in the forefront among NHL teams,” said Saucier.
