There are still plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Penguins’ first-round playoff series next week. The opponent won’t be decided until late Saturday night, and the start date — Wednesday or Thursday — will be revealed whenever the NHL decides to release its playoff schedules.
But the Penguins made sure of one thing Friday night. That series will start in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins’ clinical 4-0 win against Ottawa locked up home ice in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
Depending on the results of Saturday’s games around the league, that series could be against Columbus, New Jersey or Philadelphia.
