TAMPA – Vladislav Namestnikov scored from the left side of the crease at 2:11 of overtime to give Tampa Bay a 5-4 victory against the Penguins at Amalie Arena tonight.
The goal completed his first career hat trick.
The loss dropped the Penguins’ record to 20-16-7 and leaves them two points behind Boston, which currently holds the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.
Namestnikov staked Tampa Bay to an early 1-0 lead, as he beat Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury high on the glove side from inside the right circle at 1:51 of the opening period.
