Penguins eyeing swift end to Flyers series: 'This is what we play for'

Someone get Bryan Rust’s music ready. The Penguins have a chance to eliminate another opponent. It’s a scenario they’ve faced quite a bit over the past two seasons and also one in which they’ve thrived.

If the Penguins beat the Flyers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Friday at PPG Paints Arena, they can improve to 6-2 at home over the past two playoff series when they had a chance to eliminate their opponent.

“It’s always kind of a special situation,” Rust said Thursday after practice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. “We have a lot of guys who rise to the occasion.
