Penguins erase 3-goal deficit in beating Ottawa, 5-3

OTTAWA, Ontario — Plenty of players have had the chance to play the hero over the course of the Penguins’ recent hot streak.

Tuesday night, Carl Hagelin and Nick Bonino took their turn.

Hagelin scored twice in the third period, both off assists from Bonino, as the Penguins turned a three-goal deficit into a 5-3 win against the Senators at Consol Energy Center,

Hagelin’s game-winner, at 14:03 of the third period, came after Bonino picked off an Ottawa pass at the top of the zone and fed the puck forward. Hagelin took control and pushed a backhander past Ottawa goalie Andrew Hammond.
