Justin Schultz, a British Columbia native, had been looking forward to the Penguins’ Western Canada road trip.
He had plenty of family and friends ready to see him in Vancouver, and his girlfriend and dog were making the trip out west from Pittsburgh. They still made that trip over the weekend, but Schultz didn’t. He stayed home, continuing his recovery from a concussion.
“It was the most bored I’ve ever been for a week,” Schultz said.
When the Penguins returned to practice Monday for the first time since their Western Canada swing, Schultz was pretty happy to see his teammates.
