Penguins-Capitals Opening-Night Matchup Changed to 8 P.M. and will be Nationally Broadcast on NBC Sports Network

The Penguins’ 2016-17 season-opening game against the Washington Capitals on Thursday, October 13 has been changed to 8 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center. The game will be nationally broadcast by NBC Sports Network.

That game is one of 11 exclusive appearances that the Penguins will make on national television this year. The remaining 71 games will be broadcast locally on ROOT SPORTS, the Penguins’ regional rightsholder.

Pittsburgh is currently slated to play three times on NBC, including an outdoor game at Heinz Field on Saturday, February 25 at 8 p.m. as part of the Coors Light Stadium Series.
