The Penguins announced a couple of roster moves on Thursday. Forwards Matt Nieto (conditioning loan) and Vasily Ponomarev are coming up from the AHL. To help make space, goalie Joel Blomqvist is going down.

The veteran 32-year old forward has not played an NHL game in almost a full year (November 39th) due to a series of knee injuries and surgeries on both of his legs.
