Penguins bring back P.O. Joseph in no-cost trade with Blues

Pierre-Olivier Joseph has returned to the Penguins via a trade. The defenseman, who was with the team from 2019-24, leaving this summer as a free agent, is back in Pittsburgh following a trade with the St. Louis Blues.

The Penguins could use a defender with Marcus Pettersson injured. The left side of their lineup consists of a 20-year old rookie in Owen Pickering, Matt Grzelcyk and Ryan Graves, with Ryan Shea also in the lineup currently and veteran minor leaguer Nate Clurman as depth.
