Penguins beat New Jersey Devils, 5-2

NEWARK, N.J. — As the new year approaches, it seems many are ready to turn the page to 2017.

Justin Schultz, though, would probably like to keep the calendar on 2016 — and, specifically, the month of December — for as long as he can.

The Penguins beat the Devils, 5-2, Tuesday night in their first game back after a three-day holiday break. Schultz scored the game-winner late in the second period the continue his red-hot offensive month. He has 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in December.

He added to that total Tuesday night when he joined Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin in a 4-on-4 rush with time winding down in the second period.
