The Penguins may still have some defensive issues that need ironing out.
But 3-on-3 overtime? They’ve got that figured out.
Justin Schultz scored the winner at 2:36 of the extra session to give the Penguins a 4-3 victory against Calgary Monday, their second consecutive overtime win.
The Penguins are 11-4 on the season in overtime, and have now won back-to-back games in that fashion after a season-long three-game losing skid.
It wasn’t always pretty against the Flames, though. They gave up 36 shots to Calgary in regulation, the third time in four games they have allowed at least 35 shots on goal to an opponent.
