Penguins Acquire Defenseman Trevor Daley from the Chicago Blackhawks in Exchange for Rob Scuderi

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Trevor Daley from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Rob Scuderi, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Daley is signed through the 2016-17 season and his contract carries an average annual value of $3.3 million.

Daley, 32, was in his first season with the Blackhawks after spending his first 11 years with the Dallas Stars. He had six assists and was plus-1 in 29 games with Chicago this year.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound blueliner had the best offensive year of his career last season in Dallas, tallying 16 goals, 22 assists and 38 points in 68 contests.
