Paul Zeise: Penguins were the better team in Game 6, but Craig Anderson was the best player

The Penguins did everything they needed to do Tuesday night against Ottawa to advance to the Stanley Cup final — except actually win the game.

They fired 46 shots on the Senators, they had fewer giveaways and they dominated faceoffs. They were the better team Tuesday in the 2-1 Game 6 loss and they clearly are the better team overall.

The Penguins ran into a hot goaltender in Craig Anderson and thus lost a game they should have won. Now they must regroup one more time and get ready for Game 7 Thursday.

This wasn’t a case of the Senators outplaying the Penguins.
