Patric Hornqvist rejoined the Penguins for practice in a non-contact capacity Thursday at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
Hornqvist, one of the team’s most impactful players because of his energetic style, has been out since a 7-4 win over Washington on Feb. 2, a span of eight games.
Without Hornqvist, their regular net-front presence on the power play, the Penguins have gone just 2 for 16 (12.5 percent) with the man-advantage, a far cry from their NHL-best conversion rate of 30.3 percent since Jan. 1.
After he was off the ice for about two weeks, Hornqvist resumed skating on his own Feb.
