When Sidney Crosby picked up the Stanley Cup in June, I don’t think any of us were really expecting Trevor Daley to be the first player he passed it to. On the surface, it made sense - an important player to the Pens who just missed the chance to play in the Final due to a broken ankle - but it was so much more meaningful than that.
And it wouldn’t have happened without the events of one year ago today, in which the Pittsburgh Penguins traded Rob Scuderi for Daley in a one-for-one swap.
Happy trade-iversary, everybody!
