Seven years ago today, the Penguins had an easy night during Game 5 of the 2017 Stanley Cup Final against the Nashville Predators at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Through the beginning of the series, the home team had held serve and was victorious in each of the first four games.
The Penguins won games by scores of 5-3 and 4-1, but Nashville defended its turf with 5-1 and 4-1 wins of their own, sending the series back to Pittsburgh tied ahead of a pivotal Game 5.
In that pivotal game, the Penguins scored early and often and never looked back.
